Repair . Reuse . Reimagine

Our Services

  • Sewthano Alteration Service is a sustainability‑focused sewing business offering clothing alterations, repairs, and creative upcycling to help garments last longer. With an emphasis on circular fashion, Sewthano supports better fit, reduced waste, and mindful clothing care through practical, high quality sewing.

  • A dedicated clothing repair service, carefully mending and restoring garments to extend their life. Each repair is completed with attention to durability, functionality, and detail, helping clothes stay wearable for longer.

  • Our workshops provide hands‑on sewing and repair skills that empower people to care for their own clothes. Designed for schools, communities, and events, the workshops focus on practical mending, simple alterations, and upcycling techniques, encouraging confidence, creativity, and more sustainable clothing habits.

  • We offer fun, hands‑on sewing and clothing repair sessions designed to build confidence and creativity. Young people learn simple mending, basic sewing skills, and upcycling techniques in an engaging, age‑appropriate way, while developing awareness of sustainability and how to care for their own clothes.

  • Partnership with schools, community groups, festivals, and organisations to deliver sewing, repair, and sustainability‑focused initiatives. These collaborations support education, skills development, and waste reduction through workshops, mobile repair services, and creative projects tailored to each partner’s goals.

Our story

Repair . Reuse. Reimagine

Sewthano was founded to empower people to repair, rework and remagine their clothes. We believe in practical skills, heritage, culture and a more sustainable way of living .

Founder

Hey, I’m Liz. I’ve spent nearly 20 years as a garment technologist, specialising in garment construction, fit development and technical innovation for brands like ASOS, Ann Summers, Ivy Park, Juicy Couture, Jack Wills and Avon. My career has been built on understanding clothing from the inside out how it’s made, how it moves, and how it can be transformed.

Sewthano grew from a simple belief that clothes deserve a second life and people deserve the skills to care for what they already own. I bring together my technical background with a commitment to circularity, repair culture and community empowerment. Through workshops, partnerships and hands‑on learning, I teach practical sewing and mending skills that make creativity accessible to everyone.
